Vice President Lai Meiqin Visited Malaysia

From June 21thto 25th, Vice President Lai Meiqin, and a group of delegates
of the University paid a visit to two universities in Malaysia. They attended
several events and met with heads of academic institutions to explore
possibilities for exchange and cooperation.
Both Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and Universiti Tun Hussein Onn
Malaysia (UTHM) are located in the Western Kra Peninsula. On visiting at
Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), the delegation met with Dr. Hadi Nur,
head of International Affair Office, to discuss issues regarding teacher and
student exchanges and joint-education programs. A Memorandum of
Understanding was signed after the meeting.
Subsequently, the delegation visited Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia
(UTHM) and met with Dr.Yusri Bin Yusof, head of the Faculty of Mechanical
and Manufacturing Engineering, exploring possibilities of student exchange
and other forms of cooperation.
Both UTM and UTHM are universities meeting international standard, whose
modern teaching equipment, advanced scientific and research level and beautiful
campus left a deep impression to the delegation. This visit fosters cooperation
between HZU and the two universities.
During their visit, the delegation was invited to visit PERSATUAN FUI CHEW
MELAKA, Kuala Lumpur Huizhou Association, andSalak Selatan Huizhou
Association. With great delight, Lai Meiqin introduced recent development of HZU
and Huizhou to these associations, hoping that overseas Chinese associations could
play a role in promoting HZU and Huizhou, as well as reinforcing communication
and connection between each other.
