Huizhou University Holds Joint Seminar between Huizhou University

To further strengthen high-quality exchanges and cooperation between HZU
and universities along the Belt and Road countries. On the morning of
September 12, the Joint Seminar between Huizhou University and Universiti
Teknologi MARA was held in Room 501, Building B of Xuri Science and Technology
Building. Seven representatives from the Institute of Business Excellence of
Universiti Teknologi MARA, including Dean Wan Edura Wan Rashid, attended
the seminar. Vice President of HZU, Wei Xiaohui, leaders of the Department
of International Exchange and Cooperation, and faculty members from the
School of Economics and Management, as well as students, participated in
this joint academic seminar.
Wei Xiaohui delivered a speech at the seminar, extending a warm welcome
on behalf of the university to the experts and scholars who had traveled all
the way from Malaysia and expressed heartfelt thanks for their visit. She then
briefly introduced the reform and development situation at the provincial, city,
and university levels, pointing out that HZU has always adhered to open education,
actively responded to the national Belt and Road initiative, and deeply promoted internationalization of education and external exchanges and cooperation.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations
between China and Malaysia, making it an opportune and significant time for
the two universities to engage in exchanges and cooperation. The successful
hosting of this academic seminar is not only the positive outcome of previous
communications between the two institutions but also lays a solid foundation for
promoting comprehensive and multi-level cooperation in the next step. She looks
forward to in-depth exchanges and mutual progress among experts and scholars
from both sides!
On behalf of the Institute of Business Excellence, Wan Edura Wan Rashid delivered
a speech. She expressed heartfelt gratitude for HZU’s sincere invitation and warm
reception! She then introduced the relevant situation of the institute, noting that
it has rich experience in scientific research, industry-academia cooperation, and
business consulting, providing professional academic services to numerous
government departments, professional institutions, and multinational corporations.
She stated that participating in the exchange and discussion with peers in related
academic fields of our university would help broaden the institute's international perspective and enhance exchanges and cooperation, marking a milestone in
deepening the cooperative relationship between the two institutions in the
future.
During the seminar, six researchers presented reports on topics such as
collaborative empowerment of international business development by universities
and enterprises, the current situation and trends of retail in China, trade
opportunities and challenges between China and ASEAN, the current state of
online clothing retail in China, social returns on investments in traditional
cultural activities, an overview of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater
Bay Area, and the development of tourism in Huizhou.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the formal establishment of diplomatic
relations between China and Malaysia, as well as the beginning of the second
decade of China's Belt and Road initiative. This joint academic seminar is the
first academic exchange activity conducted after our school leaders visited
Singapore and Malaysia in June this year. It will help promote our efforts to
expand the Belt and Road education exchange and cooperation network,
widen channels for international education, and support the high-quality
development of the our international exchanges and cooperation.
