On the morning of March 10, a delegation of teachers and students from Osaka
University of Tourism and Soka University, Japan, visited our university. The two sides
held an exchange symposium in Conference Room 612 of the Administration Building.
Wei Xiaohui, Vice President of our university, and relevant heads of the International
Exchange and Cooperation Department and the School of Foreign Languages attended
the meeting, which was presided over by the head of the International Exchange and
Cooperation Department.
At the meeting, the head of the International Exchange and Cooperation Department
first introduced the development overview of Huizhou City, as well as our university’s
history, disciplinary characteristics and achievements in international exchanges and
cooperation. The head of the School of Foreign Languages focused on the cooperation
between our Japanese major and Japanese universities and enterprises, demonstrating
the remarkable progress our university has made in internationalized education.

Mr. You Xiao, leader of the delegation from Osaka University of Tourism, thanked
our university for the warm reception and elaborated on Osaka University of Tourism’s
history, educational characteristics and the history of cooperation between the two
universities. He expressed the hope that more students from Osaka University of
Tourism would participate in exchange programs between the two universities in the
future, come to China to study Chinese and gain an in-depth understanding of Chinese
culture.

On behalf of the university, Vice President Wei Xiaohui warmly welcomed the Japanese university delegation. She emphasized that our university has always adhered to the
concept of openness and inclusiveness and actively promoted international exchanges
and cooperation. She hoped that the Japanese exchange students would interact
deeply with our teachers and students, enhance mutual understanding, fully
experience the campus culture and immerse themselves in Chinese culture.
Meanwhile, she looked forward to further deepening the friendly cooperative relations between Chinese and Japanese universities through this exchange activity.

Subsequently, exchange students from Osaka University of Tourism and Soka University
introduced themselves respectively. Hashimoto Taiga from Soka University said that
although he had just arrived at Huizhou University, he had already deeply felt the
richness and uniqueness of Chinese culture. Nishizaki Komachi from Osaka University of
Tourism shared that she had experienced many cultural shocks since coming to China,
and hoped to improve her Chinese proficiency and build profound friendships with our
students through this exchange.

The short-term exchange program for Japanese students features a compact and
diverse itinerary, covering Chinese language learning, traditional Chinese martial arts,
art experiences, Hanfu culture, tea ceremony culture, visits to traditional Chinese
medicine institutions, and tours of modern Chinese enterprises. It offers valuable
opportunities for Japanese students to deeply experience traditional Chinese culture
and understand contemporary social development. This exchange not only enhanced
mutual understanding among Chinese and Japanese youth, but also built a solid
platform for deepening bilateral cooperation. In the future, our university will continue
to promote people-to-people exchanges with foreign universities, encourage Chinese
and foreign students to learn from each other, broaden students’ international
horizons, help cultivate high-quality talents with global competitiveness, and contribute
to the university’s talent training goals.
