Invited by the School of Fashion and Textiles of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University,
an exchange delegation from our University’s School of Fashion travelled to Hong Kong
from September 2 to 6 to participate in the fashion exhibition CENTRESTAGE ASIA'S
FASHION SPOTLIGHT.

At the exhibition, our university set up a joint booth together with the School of
Fashion and Textiles of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, fully demonstrating our
strength in fashion design and technological innovation. The exhibition consisted of
static and dynamic sections: the static display featured 11 sets of clothing works by
faculty members Huang Han, Huang Gang and students of our school; the dynamic
show presented 6 collections in total, including Huang Han’s knitwear
collection Rhymes of the Tides and students’ works. Integrating traditional aesthetics
with modern creativity, these works showcased the design talent and professional
standard of our teachers and students, attracting widespread attention both at home
and abroad.

During the exhibition, representatives from institutions such as the Asian Art Museum
of the United States and the University of California, Berkeley, as well as participating
exhibitors, specially stopped by the joint booth to view the exhibits and spoke highly
of their design concepts and craftsmanship. Senior fashion buyers from Germany,
Hong Kong and other places were impressed by the unique style and market potential
of the works. Following on-site negotiations, multiple transactions for clothing and
accessory designs were concluded, effectively linking design achievements with
market demand. In addition, a number of authoritative media outlets at home and
abroad, including RTHK, Huaxi Daily and Hong Kong Kids Fashion Week, focused on our
exhibits, conducting detailed on-site interviews and arranging follow-up in-depth
reports, further expanding the visibility and influence of our university’s fashion works.

Besides the exhibition, the delegation visited The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and
met with teachers, students and doctoral candidates of the research team for the “
Glorious Sun Group – Huizhou University – The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
Tripartite Research Cooperation Project”, pointing the way for further deepening
academic cooperation and promoting the commercialization of research results.

The delegation also paid an in-depth visit to the headquarters of Hong Kong Glorious
Sun Group, an important partner that has collaborated with our university for 40
years. The visit not only strengthened bilateral cooperation ties, but also enriched
the connotation of the tripartite partnership among the Glorious Sun Group,
Huizhou University and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, breaking
communication barriers between universities and enterprises and between
institutions, and opening a new chapter of multi-dimensional and effective
communication.

This exchange visit to Hong Kong was of great significance. It effectively broadened the
international horizons of our teachers and students, allowing them to engage closely
with the cutting-edge trends of global fashion. The outstanding performance of our
works at the exhibition earned positive attention from art museums, universities and
media worldwide, as well as high recognition from international buyers. The
achievement successfully showcased the strong capabilities of our university’s fashion
design on the Hong Kong and international stage, greatly enhancing the university’s
reputation and prestige across the Asia-Pacific region, comprehensively strengthening
its global influence and competitiveness, and injecting new impetus into the long-term
development of the university and the school.
