On December 17, a group of 12 teachers and students from Samoa College,
accompanied by staff from the Foreign Affairs Office of Huizhou Municipal Party
Committee, visited our university for an exchange activity. Teachers and students from
our university’s International Exchange and Cooperation Department, School of
Educational Science, and School of Economics and Management warmly received the
delegation and organized interactive exchanges.

Lin Hong, head of the International Exchange and Cooperation Department, warmly
welcomed the Samoan delegation and introduced in detail the university’s
development history, academic programs, faculty and student scale, and
achievements in international education. She stated that the university has always
attached great importance to international exchanges and cooperation. By building
diverse platforms for educational and cultural exchange, it continuously broadens
students’ international horizons and enhances cross-cultural understanding and
recognition. She expressed hope that young people from China and Samoa would
take this opportunity to deepen mutual understanding and build profound friendship.
Patricia Golovale-Reupena, Vice Principal of Samoa College, expressed sincere gratitude
for the warm reception and introduced the delegation’s itinerary and purpose of the
visit to Huizhou. She noted that the beautiful campus environment, complete modern
facilities, and the hospitality of teachers and students left a deep and pleasant
impression on the delegation. She hoped that young people from both countries
would continue to strengthen interaction and exchanges, consolidate the foundation
of friendly relations, and contribute youthful energy to the continued development
of friendly ties between China and Samoa.

During the exchange meeting, student representatives from the School of Educational
Science and the School of Economics and Management spoke alongside student
representatives from Samoa College. They shared in-depth views on campus life, local
culture, folk customs, and personal interests. Young people from both sides interacted
actively and spoke freely, creating a relaxed and lively atmosphere. The exchange not
only fully demonstrated the positive spirit of young people from both countries, but
also built a solid bridge for further understanding and friendship.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations
between China and Samoa. The visit by the Samoan teachers and students is a
concrete step in implementing the consensus on deepening cooperation between
the two countries in education, culture, and youth affairs. By continuously organizing
people-to-people exchange activities, our university effectively helps students broaden
their international horizons, deepen their understanding of diverse cultures, and plays
an active role in promoting mutual learning and friendship between young people from
China and Samoa.
